Three steps, about one minute.

  1. Open AxionSetup.exeClick it in the download list at the top right of your browser. You can also find it in your Downloads folder.
  2. Windows may warn you. Choose More info, then Run anyway.It warns because Axion is new, not because anything was found. What each warning means.
  3. Choose Yes, then Next, Install and FinishAxion opens when you press Finish. Sign in with Discord or Google and you're ready.

If Windows or your browser warns you

Axion is new and its installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows and browsers don't know it. Tools that change system settings also look suspicious to antivirus programs. Here is what each message means and what to click. You never need to turn off your antivirus.

  1. AxionSetup.exe isn't commonly downloaded

    Your browser stops the download because few people have downloaded this exact file yet.

    Chrome, Brave and Opera

    1. Open the download list: the download icon at the top right, or chrome://downloads.
    2. On AxionSetup.exe, choose Keep or Download suspicious file.
    3. On the downloads page, the … menu next to the file has Keep dangerous file.

    Edge

    1. Point at the download in the downloads panel and choose …, then Keep.
    2. In the box that opens, choose Show more, then Keep anyway.

    Firefox

    1. Open the downloads panel (the arrow at the top right).
    2. Right-click the blocked download and choose Allow download.

  2. Windows protected your PC

    This is Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. It appears because the installer is new and unsigned, not because anything was found in it.

    1. Choose More info.
    2. Check that the app is AxionSetup.exe, then choose Run anyway.

  3. Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?

    Axion needs administrator rights to change system settings, so Windows asks. It says unknown publisher until the installer is signed.

    1. Check that the program name is AxionSetup.exe and choose Yes.

  4. Microsoft Defender flagged or removed the file

    Do not turn Microsoft Defender off. You do not need to, and we would rather you kept it on. Just get this one file back:

    1. Open Windows Security, then Virus & threat protection, then Protection history.
    2. Select the entry for AxionSetup.exe or Axion.
    3. Under Actions, choose Allow on device or Restore.

    If Defender keeps flagging Axion after it's installed, you can add an exclusion for its folder only: C:\Program Files\Axion. Windows Security, Virus & threat protection, Manage settings, Exclusions, Add an exclusion, Folder.

  5. Another antivirus put it in quarantine

    Every antivirus has a quarantine. Restore AxionSetup.exe from it, then add an exception for that file or for C:\Program Files\Axion. You don't need to turn the antivirus off.

  6. Smart App Control blocked Axion

    Some Windows 11 PCs have Smart App Control. It blocks apps that are not signed yet, and you cannot let one app through. To run Axion you have to turn it off, in Windows Security under App & browser control.

    On Windows 11 with the April 2026 update or newer you can turn it back on afterwards. On older versions you cannot, unless you reset Windows. If you would rather wait until Axion is signed, that is a fair choice.

Open Axion from the Start menu and sign in with Discord or Google. Run Preview for free to see what would change. Boost needs Premium.

What Axion changes

Windows settings, services and game settings files, listed tweak by tweak. A restore point comes before every boost, and Revert all in the app puts the old values back.
